π Beef Tips with Gravy (Over Mashed Potatoes)

π§Ύ Ingredients
For the Beef Tips
500β700 g beef stew meat (chunks)
2 tbsp oil or butter
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp black pepper
Salt to taste
1 bay leaf (optional)
For the Gravy
2 tbsp flour
2 tbsp butter
Β½ cup cream or milk (optional for richness)
For the Mashed Potatoes
4β5 potatoes, peeled & cubed
2 tbsp butter
ΒΌβΒ½ cup milk
Salt & pepper
π³ Instructions
1οΈβ£ Cook the Beef
- Heat oil/butter in a pot.
- Add beef chunks and brown them on all sides.
- Add onions and sautΓ© until soft.
- Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
2οΈβ£ Make the Sauce
- Add beef broth, Worcestershire, paprika, pepper, bay leaf.
- Stir, cover, and simmer 1β1.5 hours until beef is tender.
(Or cook 35β40 min in pressure cooker.)
3οΈβ£ Thicken into Gravy
- In a small pan melt 2 tbsp butter, add 2 tbsp flour β mix to form a roux.
- Pour into the beef pot and stir until thick.
- Add cream if you want extra creamy sauce.
- Simmer 5 more minutes.
- Taste and adjust salt & pepper.
π₯ Make the Mashed Potatoes
- Boil potatoes until soft.
- Drain, mash with butter & milk.
- Season with salt and pepper.
