Cheesy Potato Patties

 Ingredients (10–12 patties)

  • 4 large potatoes, boiled & mashed
  • 1 cup mozzarella or melting cheese, sliced or shredded
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (or flour)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil or butter for frying

 Instructions

  1. Prepare Potato Dough
    • Mix mashed potatoes, egg, cornstarch, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and parsley.
    • Mix until soft but workable.
  2. Stuff with Cheese
    • Take a spoon of potato mixture.
    • Place cheese in the center.
    • Cover with another spoon and shape into a patty.
  3. Fry Until Golden
    • Heat oil or butter in a pan over medium heat.
    • Fry patties 3–4 minutes per side until crispy and golden.
  4. Serve Hot
    • Garnish with parsley.
    • Serve with garlic sauce, yogurt dip, or ketchup.

 Pro Tips

  • Use low-moisture mozzarella for the best cheese stretch
  • Chill patties 15 minutes before frying to prevent breaking
  • You can also bake at 200°C for 20 minutes, flipping halfway
