Here’s the traditional homemade honey–lemon–ginger–onion syrup shown in the image. It’s commonly used as a natural comfort remedy for cough and throat irritation (not a medical treatment).
🍯 Honey, Lemon, Ginger & Onion Syrup
🧾 Ingredients
1 cup raw honey
1 lemon (washed, sliced)
1 medium onion (finely chopped)
3–4 cloves garlic (crushed or chopped)
1 small piece fresh ginger (grated)
👩🍳 Preparation
Put the chopped onion, garlic, and grated ginger into a clean glass jar.
Add the lemon slices.
Pour honey over everything until fully covered.
Close the jar and let it rest:
At room temperature: 8–12 hours
Or in the fridge: up to 24 hours
Strain the liquid (optional). Keep the syrup in a jar.
🥄 How to Use
Take 1 tablespoon, 2–3 times a day
Can be taken directly or mixed into warm (not hot) water or tea
