Buttery Layered Pan Bread (No Oven)

🧾 Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (or water)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 120–150 g soft butter (for layering)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Dough

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, yeast.
  2. Add warm milk and oil.
  3. Knead until soft and smooth (8–10 minutes).
  4. Cover and let rise 1 hour until doubled.

2️⃣ Shape & Layer

  1. Divide dough into 8–10 balls.
  2. Roll each ball slightly flat.
  3. Spread soft butter on top.
  4. Stack 3–4 buttered pieces together.
  5. Gently flatten the stack into a thick disc.

3️⃣ Rest Again

  • Cover and rest 15–20 minutes (important for softness).

4️⃣ Cook

  1. Heat a non-stick pan on medium-low.
  2. Cook each bread 3–4 minutes per side until golden.
  3. Flip gently; press lightly to help layers puff.

✨ Tips

  • Use low heat so inside cooks fully
  • Butter can be mixed with cheese or herbs for flavor
  • Serve with honey, cheese, eggs, or savory fillings
