Crispy Chicken, Ham & Cheese Sliders (Oven-Baked)

These sliders are made with crispy chicken patties instead of bread, layered with ham and melted cheese, then baked until golden and juicy. Perfect for parties, meal prep, or a high-protein dinner.

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

Chicken patties

  • 600 g ground chicken
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (or crushed cornflakes)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

Filling

  • 8–10 slices ham (turkey or beef ham works well)
  • 6–8 slices mozzarella or provolone cheese

Topping

  • 2 tbsp melted butter or olive oil
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds (or sesame seeds)
  • ½ tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken mixture
In a bowl, mix ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Shape & bake patties
Form small square or round patties (slider size).
Place on a lined baking tray and bake at 190°C (375°F) for 18–20 minutes, flipping once.
  3. Assemble sliders
On a baking dish, place one chicken patty, add ham and cheese, then top with another chicken patty.
  4. Season the top
Brush tops with melted butter or oil. Sprinkle poppy seeds and oregano.
  5. Final bake
Return to oven and bake 10–12 minutes until cheese is fully melted and tops are golden.
  6. Serve
Rest 5 minutes, then serve hot.

Serving Ideas

  • With garlic mayo or honey mustard
  • Alongside salad or roasted potatoes
  • Great for keto/low-carb when breadcrumbs are replaced with almond flour

Tips

  • Extra crispy: broil for 1–2 minutes at the end
  • Spicy version: add chili flakes or hot sauce to chicken mix
  • Air fryer option: cook patties at 180°C for 12–15 min
