Salisbury Steak Ingredients
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp oil or butter (for frying)
Gravy Ingredients
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt & pepper to taste
Mashed Potatoes
- 4 large potatoes, peeled & cubed
- 2 tbsp butter
- ½ cup warm milk
- Salt & pepper to taste
Garlic Green Beans
- 300 g green beans
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
- Salt & pepper
To Serve
- Soft dinner rolls or bread
Instructions
Make the Salisbury Steaks
- In a bowl, mix beef, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Shape into thick oval patties.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Cook patties 4–5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
- Remove and set aside.
Prepare the Gravy
- In the same pan, melt butter.
- Add flour and whisk for 1 minute.
- Slowly add beef broth, stirring constantly.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Return patties to pan and simmer 5 minutes until thick and glossy.
Mashed Potatoes
- Boil potatoes in salted water until tender (15–20 min).
- Drain, mash with butter and warm milk.
- Season with salt & pepper.
- Make a small well in the center and spoon gravy on top (just like the photo
).
Garlic Green Beans
- Heat oil or butter in a pan.
- Add garlic and sauté briefly.
- Toss in green beans, season, and cook 5–7 minutes until tender but crisp.
Serve
Plate two Salisbury steaks, mashed potatoes with gravy, garlicky green beans, and a soft dinner roll on the side.
