Cheesy Bacon-Wrapped Meat Patties

Ingredients (6 pieces)
For the filling
- 400–500 g ground meat (beef, pork, or mixed)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1 green pepper or pickle, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 2–3 tbsp breadcrumbs
- Salt & pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp oregano or thyme
Wrapping & topping
- 12 slices of bacon (2 per patty)
- 150–200 g cheese (mozzarella, gouda, or cheddar), grated
- 1–2 tbsp oil or butter (for frying)

Instructions
1. Prepare the filling
- Heat a little oil in a pan.
- Sauté onion until soft.
- Add grated carrot + chopped pepper and cook 3–4 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
- Let it cool slightly.
- In a bowl, combine:
- ground meat
- sautéed vegetables
- egg
- breadcrumbs
- salt, pepper, paprika, oregano
- Mix well and shape into 6 thick patties.
2. Wrap with bacon
- Lay 2 slices of bacon in a “+” cross shape.
- Place the meat patty in the center.
- Fold bacon over the patty to wrap it completely.
3. Cook
Pan method
- Heat a bit of oil in a pan.
- Place bacon-wrapped patties seam-side down.
- Fry on medium heat until bacon becomes golden.
- Flip and cook the other side.
Oven method
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until cooked through.
4. Add cheese topping
- Place all patties on a baking tray or keep in the pan.
- Cover each with a generous amount of grated cheese.
- Bake or broil 5 minutes until cheese melts completely.
