Beef Fried Rice

Recipe Introduction:

This Beef Fried Rice is a delicious, savory dish that’s quick and easy to make. It’s the perfect balance of tender beef, fluffy rice, and fresh vegetables, all stir-fried together with flavorful seasonings. Ideal for a weeknight dinner or a meal prep option, this dish is packed with taste and can be customized with your favorite veggies.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cooked white rice (preferably day-old rice for best texture)
  • 200g ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped carrots
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup green onions (scallions), chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the rice: If using freshly cooked rice, spread it out on a baking sheet and let it cool for about 10 minutes. This will help prevent it from becoming too sticky when frying.
  2. Cook the beef: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Once browned, remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.
  3. Stir-fry the vegetables: In the same pan, add sesame oil, then sauté the garlic, ginger, carrots, and onion for about 3-4 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Combine the beef and rice: Return the cooked beef to the pan, then add the rice. Stir everything together, making sure the beef and vegetables are evenly mixed with the rice.
  5. Season the rice: Add the soy sauce and oyster sauce (if using), then stir-fry for an additional 3-5 minutes, ensuring everything is well-coated in the sauce and heated through.
  6. Garnish and serve: Remove from heat and stir in the chopped green onions. Optionally, sprinkle with cilantro for a fresh, herbal touch. Serve hot and enjoy!

This savory beef fried rice is a satisfying meal on its own or can be paired with a side of vegetables or an egg for extra protein.
