🍗 Honey Butter Crispy Chicken
🛒 Ingredients
For the chicken
700 g chicken thighs or breasts, cut into pieces
1 cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tbsp vinegar)
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup cornstarch
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
Oil for frying
For the honey butter sauce
4 tbsp butter
⅓ cup honey
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp minced garlic
½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
½ tsp dried parsley or thyme
👩‍🍳 Instructions
Marinate the chicken
Soak chicken in buttermilk with a pinch of salt for 30 minutes (or up to overnight).
Prepare coating
Mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Coat & fry
Dredge chicken well in the flour mixture.
Fry in hot oil (170–175°C / 340–350°F) for 6–8 minutes until golden and crispy.
Drain on paper towels.
Make honey butter sauce
Melt butter in a pan.
Add garlic, cook 30 seconds.
Stir in honey, soy sauce, chili flakes, and herbs.
Simmer 1–2 minutes until glossy.
Combine
Toss fried chicken in the sauce until fully coated.
